Kuravia

Kuravia on the official map

Kuravia is a nation within The Free Isles, known for its affinity for the undead, rampant necromancy, and howling winds that tear away the flesh of both living and dead. Most of the Wizard High School arc takes place here, as well as the Dungeon Truck arc. It is briefly seen in the Sky's Shadow arc, focusing on Thog, Colvin, and the Ashen Knight as they travel north to try and locate Ashe and Firi.

History[]

Very little is known about Kuravian history. Over the centuries, ages of magi using or abusing the power of necromancy resulted in the nation's infamous winds, rendering travel within the nation near impossible and threatening to rip the flesh off of living and undead alike.

Kuravia is currently ruled by a group of powerful necromancer lords who seek to expand their influence. They recently made a deal with the Alaran Empire to acquire a powerful staff with dominion over life and death, resulting in the creation of Tax Haven. They would nearly instantaneously turn on the Alarani and attempt to steal thes staff instead.

Culture[]

Very little is known about Kuravian Culture, although they have a high focus on necromancy as a whole.

Due to a somewhat large density of Liches in the Kuravian countryside, several dungeons designed to lure in and kill adventurers for pillaging has been formed for the purpose of competition between these Liches.

In Kuravia live amphibians, known as a Kuravian Grey Frogs, creatures with a lethal poison that even scares the undead. They stand out due to their pale grey color in the neon-green hellscape that is Kuravia. They swim around somewhere in Kuravia, however the location is unknown.[1]

Kuravia is known for its flesh-tearing winds, which blow through a large swath of the country, ripping flesh from bone and transforming living creatures into skeletons.

In spite of everything, Kuravia is actually quite forward thinking in terms of labor and work standards, being extremely open to the idea of unionizing.

The Kuravian government practices a form of punishment known as brainwashing. The process of brainwashing involves literally washing out the bits of brain left inside one's skeleton. It is part of a general process to seal magical artifacts into the skulls of skeletons and criminals. However, not all skeletons are compatible for magical item storage.

Some Kuravians carry piss jugs and are mildly protective of them.

The people of Kuravia worship the Kuravian Necrovortex as their god.
